Dorothy Yorty
President
Dorothy Yorty received her Bachelor of Arts in Music from Southeastern University. She traveled for 10 years as a recording artist and recorded 5 albums. She has been teaching Elementary education for 20 years and has been teaching in Lee County Public Schools for 10 years. She is currently teaching at Patriot Elementary in Cape Coral, FL. She is the President of the Southwest Florida Orff Chapter, District 2 Representative for FEMEA, Subject Specialist for Elementary Music in Lee County, on the board of Southwest Florida Music Foundation, and is part of curriculum development for Elementary Music in Lee County. She actively supports and helps with new teacher development through mentoring college students as well as new teachers through the A.P.P.L.E.S. mentoring program. She is certified in Orff levels 1 & 2 and Conversational Solfege 1,2 and Upper Levels, and First Steps. She also directs the worship team at her church.
nadia armsworth
Secretary
Nadia Armsworth has an Associates of fine Arts from Lincoln Land Community College, Springfield, IL, and Bachelors of Science in Music Education from MacMurray College, Jacksonville, IL. She taught K-12 Music/Choirs in Kewanee, IL. Her music program was extremely successful. She and her husband moved to Ft. Myers, Florida in 2011 where they began teaching in Lee County. Nadia has been teaching at Treeline Elementary for 11 years. She has her Orff Level 1 and 2 certification, and Conversational Solfege 1 and 2 certification. She has been involved in the SW Florida Orff chapter for 10 years holding various positions, most recently, Secretary. She performs flute and vocal solos at her church and enjoys spending time with her family. She is looking forward to the start of her 19th year of teaching.
Natalie Nauss-Aldrich
Treasurer
Natalie Nauss-Aldrich as been teaching music since 2002. She has taught all grade levels from K-5 general music, 6-8 Middle School band, 9-12 Jazz ensemble, and 7th grade intensive reading.
